Measure G Current Results
FUSD Community,
We are excited to see the current results of Measure G. Thank you to the community of Fillmore for supporting and believing in our school district, and most importantly, supporting our amazing students! We are optimistically looking forward to the official vote count by the Ventura County Elections Office and can’t wait for the official celebration. Our first project will be the construction of a new gymnasium and athletic complex at Fillmore High. Please stay tuned for opportunities to get involved and provide input on this project.
Great things are happening in FUSD!
Sincerely,
Christine Schieferle, Superintendent
Rounding out our military visits!
Rounding out our military visits, we had the Navy join us at lunch last week. We continue to support our students as they explore all options for their futures. We want them to feel confident that they have had a chance to learn about each option so that they make the best decisions for themselves.
So far: Community College, Cosmetology, Barber School, Air Force, Marines, Army, & Navy
Let's celebrate these SENIORS!
Let's celebrate these SENIORS! They are one step closer to being 100% committed to Ventura College! Today they worked with the team from VC to get into the student portal for their orientation and are ready to select classes once schedules are published for next year. Many of them have already done their financial aid applications as well. We are so proud of them! Warriors get it done!
Sierra students had some fun activities last Friday and yesterday!
Sierra students had some fun activities last Friday and yesterday. Students played the Minute to Win It game called the mummy wrap. ASB hosted the "littles" from our sister school Heritage Valley Independent Studies to paint pumpkins, and we held our own Costume contest. We love making Sierra and Heritage Valley a great place to be! Our students know they are safe, valued, and members of our communities of Fillmore and Piru.
Happy Halloween!
our seniors applying for community colleges!
We are so proud to say that today it was standing room only for our seniors applying for community colleges! The excellent Ventura College support team came today and approximately 50 students completed their applications all at once! Did you know that there is one application for 116 of California's community colleges? You can find out more at https://home.cccapply.org/en/
group of Warriors toured Lu Ross Academy
Today a group of Warriors toured Lu Ross Academy, a cosmetology and barber school located in downtown Ventura. Students learned about the requirements, cost to attend, and what it takes to earn a diploma from their program. Students interested in this career field must have a high school diploma and apply for financial aid before applying to the trade school.

2nd Quarter has Begun!
The first week of the quarter and the nachos for lunch get a thumbs up. We have a few new students this quarter and they fit right into our Warrior family. It's going to be a great second quarter!
our Great Shake Out earthquake drill
Today the students and staff practiced our Great Shake Out earthquake drill, which included using our search and rescue team to make sure all spaces were free and clear. Our students were professional, mature, and respectful of the serious nature needed in the possibility of a real event. We are confident that if there ever was a real emergency, they will know exactly how to handle the situation. We are very proud of our Warriors!
Lockdown Drill
We wanted to make sure families and community members are aware ahead of time that this morning we are having a practice lock down drill to make sure our students and staff know what to do in the event of an emergency. We will have the School Resource Officers and the Director of Student Services supporting the site to ensure that our system will work well. Our students know we are practicing this today.
Marines visited Sierra today during lunch
Marines visited Sierra today during lunch. Our students showed off their muscles with some pull ups and hang time on the bar. There were some unexpected super athletes in our bunch! They made it look easy!
