Our students, and staff, had so much fun celebrating Dress as Your Favorite Book Character Day! The campus was filled with creativity as students came to school dressed as characters from their favorite stories.
Our 5th graders had an exciting day visiting FMS! They toured the campus and got a sneak peek at what life as a middle schooler will be like.

This morning, Rio Vista recognized students who arrived on time for learning with a special donut treat. Students were encouraged to be at school prior to the bell following the long weekend, helping them begin the day feeling calm, prepared, and ready to learn. We appreciate our students and families commitment to punctuality and positive school habits.

This week is National School Counseling Week, and we are so grateful for our amazing counseling team at Rio Vista! A huge thank you to Ms. Ibarra, our incredible school counselor, and her wonderful interns Mr. Hughes and Ms. Gonzales for the care, compassion, and support they provide our students every day. Our school is a better place because of you!
Learning math with real-world tools! Our 1st graders in Ms. Henderson’s class practiced counting by 5s and 10s while exploring place value using coins today.
100 days smarter! Today we celebrated the 100th Day of School and all the amazing learning that has happened so far this year. Way to go, students and staff!

January’s Roadrunner Character Trait Winners showed what Perseverance looks like in action! From tackling tough assignments to staying positive through challenges, these students remind us that effort and resilience truly matter. Way to go, Roadrunners! Beep! Beep!
Mrs. Stanley and Ms. Sarah’s TK class learned and played Trash Dice! The game helps with counting, matching, and probability.
Try at home:
1 Goal: Be the first to fill your lid with one of each number, from 1 to 6.
2 Rolling: Players take turns rolling their dice.
3 Collecting: If you roll a number you need (that's not already on the plate) you place it there.
4 Trashing: If you roll a number you already have on the plate, or if your opponent rolls a number you need, that die goes into the trash can and is out of play for the round.
5 Winning: The first player to fill the plate wins the round and collects all the dice from the plate and trash can
Rio Vista Shines in the Fillmore Holiday Parade!
Our Roadrunners showed up in full school and holiday spirit today! From bright smiles to festive outfits, we loved representing our amazing Fillmore community.

Our TK class got the sweetest surprise after the rain… a full rainbow stretching right over our playground!
This week in Mrs. Stanley and Ms. Sarah’s TK class, our focus is on MOVING our bodies!
Even a rainy Monday couldn’t stop the fun! Students enjoyed a Franny the Frog–inspired puddle-jumping activity that had everyone hopping, laughing, and staying active.
November Saturday School Success!
Despite the rainy weather, our students showed up ready to learn and have fun during our PJ & Hot Cocoa themed Saturday School!
K-2 students built balloon-powered cars.
3rd-5th graders engineered and tested different paper airplanes, learning about lift, thrust, and drag. A big shoutout to our students and teachers for their creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm!

Our kindergarteners went on an ABC scavenger hunt today, searching all around campus to match letters with items. These excited kinders ran straight to the office to match the letter K with Ms. Kelp and Mrs. Karina

Our students had a spook-tacular time showing off their creative costumes during our Annual Costume Parade! From superheroes to movie characters, we loved seeing all the smiles, laughter, and school spirit.
A big thank you to our families who came out to cheer and celebrate with us. It was a great way to wrap up the week!
