Congratulations Class of 2026!

This morning, we proudly promoted 97 incredible 5th graders as they completed their elementary school journey and prepared for the exciting adventure of middle school. Watching our students walk across the stage, surrounded by proud families, dedicated staff, and years of memories, was both heartwarming and inspiring.

To our promoting class: we are so proud of all you have accomplished. Continue to work hard, be kind, and chase your dreams. Once a Roadrunner, always a Roadrunner!

Congratulations, Class of 2026, and happy summer, Roadrunners!

What a special way to start FUN DAY!

What a special way to start FUN DAY!

This morning, Ronnie the Roadrunner came out to greet students and help kick off an exciting day of fun and celebration on our last full day of school. The smiles, high-fives, and excitement were contagious!

As we wrap up another incredible school year, we want to thank our students, staff, and families for making it such a memorable one.

Tomorrow, June 4th, is the last day of school and will be a minimum day dismissal.

End-of-the-Year TK Celebration!

Today, we held our End-of-the-Year TK Celebration! Our students proudly sang songs and were recognized for their unique strengths, accomplishments, and positive character traits.

We are so proud of all they have learned and achieved this year. We can’t wait to watch our youngest Roadrunners take their next big step as they move on to Kindergarten this fall.

A special thank you to our dedicated TK and UPK teachers for their hard work, patience, and commitment throughout the year. Your care and guidance have helped our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and we are so grateful for all you do.

annual 5th Grade vs. Staff Kickball Game

Our annual 5th Grade vs. Staff Kickball Game was a huge success! Once again, the staff came away victorious, but the real winners were everyone who got to participate in this fun-filled tradition.

There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and school spirit as our 5th graders took on the staff. Most importantly, memories were made that our students will carry with them as they prepare for their next chapter.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event such a special end-of-year experience for our Roadrunners!

1st Grade visits Underwood Family Farms!

Our 1st graders had an amazing day at Underwood Family Farms! Students enjoyed exploring the farm, learning about agriculture, visiting the animals, and seeing firsthand where many of our foods come from. Field trips like these bring classroom learning to life and create memories that last a lifetime. Thank you to our teachers, staff, and parent volunteers for making this wonderful experience possible!

Student Principal for the Day!

Today we had a very special guest administrator on campus — our Student Principal for the Day! As the winner of our Open House raffle, he spent the day helping with important school responsibilities, visiting classrooms, greeting students and staff, and learning what it takes to help lead a school. He did an amazing job showing leadership, responsibility, and school spirit throughout the day!

thank you to the City of Fillmore & the Public Works Department

A huge thank you to the City of Fillmore and the Public Works Department for visiting Rio Vista Elementary and teaching our youngest Roadrunners, TK–2nd grade students, about the many important jobs that help keep our community running smoothly!

Students enjoyed hands-on demonstrations, learning about the different equipment used by Public Works crews, and seeing how it all works to serve our city each day. We appreciate the time and care taken to make this a fun and engaging learning experience for our students!

College & Career Day

Our College & Career Day was an incredible experience for our students!

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our local businesses and college representatives for joining us and investing in our students’ futures. Your time and engagement made a meaningful impact. Students had a blast completing their scavenger hunt and visiting each booth, where they picked up fun items and learned about different career paths and opportunities.

We truly appreciate our community partners!

Lunch with Loved Ones!

Lunch with a Loved One was an outstanding success—our biggest parent engagement event yet! Thank you to all of our families who joined us to share a special lunchtime with their kiddos. Your presence made the day truly meaningful for our students.

A special thank you as well to our FUSD Food Service Team for their support in helping us serve both students and guests. We appreciate all that you do!
