Another fun visit from Deputy Knox! K - 1st-grade Condor students enjoyed playing soccer and our 4th & 5th-grade students played a game of basketball.

Students in Mrs. Gomez's first grade classroom using math counters to find the missing number in expressions. Mr. Barrera's second grade students are working on building fluency in addition/subtraction by playing math games and using knowledge of number patterns in "Race to 120"!

Exciting & Fun week Week!
Exciting and fun week at Piru Elementary School! Our week began with a visit from Fillmore's Rotary Club to present our third-grade students with their very own dictionary. Followed by our Back-to-School night and ending with a visit from our Sherriff's Department during lunch. Big THANKS to all of the visitors that brought smiles to our students.
Heat Advisory Update
FUSD Families,
Due to the extended heat advisory, we will continue to limit and/or restrict outdoor activities at all school sites.
Students will be provided water as needed at all sites.
Afternoon lunch recesses will provide options for students to stay indoors or in shaded areas.
P.E. classes will be held indoors.
Fillmore High School coaches will continue to closely follow the heat index and make any necessary modifications to practices and games based on the FUSD Athletics Heat Advisory Protocols.

Please note, FUSD ONLY TRANSPORT’S THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS:
1. Students that live outside Fillmore’s City Limits. This includes those students from Piru that attend the High School (FHS), Sierra High School (SHS) and Middle School (FMS). There is also an exception for those students that attend FHS, SHS & FMS that live in El Dorado Estates (Family Mobil Home Park) and the new housing area east of Fillmore.
2. Any SPED Student as long as it has been indicated in their IEP
3. ALL SPED Students that live in Piru, as there are no SPED Classes at Piru Elementary
4. Students that are required to attend another school within FUSD District, due to impacted enrollment, enrolled in a special SPED Class or special circumstances, approved by Educational Services.
Please print and complete the STUDENT TRANSPORTATION ENROLLMENT FORM if you are requesting transportation services. If you are unable to print the form, know that it is available for you to pick up at your child’s school and/or at the MOT Office. Please complete one form per student and return to the MOT OFFICE.

Our Condors had a great start to the school year! We began the week with information day for our families. First day of school included a visit from our Superintendent, Mrs. Schieferle. Students joined their friends and participated in fun activities while learning about school. We ended our week with welcome back assemblies. Let's make it a great school year Condos!
