Fifth Grade Promotion Procession June 2, 2020 (English/Spanish)
Hello Mountain Vista Families,
We are proud to announce we will be honoring our fifth-grade class of 2020 with a promotional procession. We would like to invite you to participate in the procession on June 2, 2020. The procession will be from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m.
Procession Route:
• Cars will enter through the south end of the Goodenough Rd.
• Cars will make a right onto 5th street and a right into the school’s parking lot
• Students will be handed their promotion certificate while in their vehicle
• Teachers and staff will line up along the procession route, six feet apart
• Cars will exit the east end of campus (B Street)
Guidelines:
• Passengers must remain inside their vehicle at all times
• All passengers must wear a seat-belt
• One car per household, student must be a passenger in the front seat
o No party buses or limousines
• No walk-ups will be allowed (Bicycles, skateboards, etc.)
• Please contact your principal if you are unable to ride in a car
• Students/Families are encouraged to wear masks
• Please display this card on your dashboard to participate in procession
• Families are encouraged to decorate their vehicle (School Appropriate)
• Failure to follow guidelines may result in immediate removal from the procession.

Ruta de procesión:

Announcement Regarding Recognition for the Class of 2020 (English/Spanish)

The purpose of this message is to inform you of current actions to ensure that we recognize and celebrate the graduating seniors of Fillmore High School, Sierra High School, and Heritage Valley Independent Study.
The Fillmore Unified School District Governing Board is committed to supporting an in-person graduation ceremony for our graduating seniors once we have received authorization from public health officials to hold gatherings. We do not have any information as to when the public health orders will change and will inform the community once an update has been received.
However, I am pleased to share with our district community that our district and high school leadership have identified a unique way of recognizing our graduating seniors while also adhering to the current recommendations from public health. A vehicle procession will take place in the coming weeks to provide an opportunity for our faculty and staff to recognize the Class of 2020. Principals John Wilber and Pablo Leanos will be providing information to our graduating seniors and their families about the procession. The procession will not be open to the public and staff are researching the ability to provide a live stream of the event.
We know that these are extraordinarily challenging times for all of us and hope that you and your loved ones are safe. Thank you for your continued support.
Fillmore Unified School Bus Drivers Miss Their Students
Our lives have been turned upside down yet we are hopeful to get back in that drivers seat and be with our students. We long for the “How was your day?”, “Can I open a window?”, “Wanna buy a raffle ticket?”, “I have a game tonight, can you come watch me play?” The smiles, the sweaty faces of the 6th period PE students racing to be one of the first students on the bus, the art work for moms, the “I got an A on my project.”, the high fives. Life is not the same and may never get back to “normal”, yet we are hopeful. We miss our students immensely and look forward to being able to see them again. Fillmore Unified School Bus Drivers miss our Students and hope you all are doing well. ❤️🚌

Packet distribution for TK, Kinder and 1st grade will be Tuesday, April 14 from 12-4pm in the valet lane.
Mountain Vista Meal Distribution
Fillmore Unified staff and local deputies worked together to hand out meals for Fillmore students in the parking lot on Monday April 13, 2020. Meal distribution is once per week. Each meal package provides students with 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. Great job FUSD staff and deputies!

A revised meal service plan will go into effect starting on Monday, April 13.
FUSD Students will be prioritized by using Student ID number/bar code on post cards that have been mailed to Fillmore student homes for meal distribution. Post cards for students living in Piru will be available for pick-up at the food distribution sites.
Please bring this card with you each week to one of our 3 sites: Fillmore Middle School, Mountain Vista Elementary School, and Piru Boys and Girls Club Parking Lot from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. every Monday starting on April 13.
