This year has been full of changes in the Ed Code and enrollments for our program and these rockstars went above and beyond with their flexibility and determination. We can not thank them enough! Today the elementary program celebrated and honored all of the hardworking learning coaches, moms, bonus moms, and grandmothers that have been helping their little independent workers from home this past school year. Our guests of honor were surprised with a quick little performance from their children. These students did fantastic for their first time singing together in person! We all had tears in our eyes. We are very grateful for everyone's support through the ups and downs of a first year program. Thank you for everything!

Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated May 2nd through the 6th this year with today, May 3rd, being Teacher Appreciation Day. National Teacher Appreciation Day, also known as National Teacher Day, recognizes dedicated educators across the country. As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, the celebration takes place on the Tuesday of the first full week in May each year. Each May, California salutes the important contributions of classified school employees during Classified School Employee Week (CSEW). Classified Employee week is celebrated May 15th through the 21st this year. Fillmore Unified School District will be combining Teacher Appreciation Week and Classified Employees Week together May 9th through the 13th.

Sierra High School and Heritage Valley Independent Studies held its first family paint and snack night this evening. These events are a peaceful way to spend quality time with your student in grades 6-12. Our next one is May 10th, 5-6pm. We hope to see you there!
