Dr. César Morales, Ventura County Superintendent of Schools, visited Fillmore Unified School District today. Dr. Morales said, "I loved seeing 5th graders tutoring younger students in math today at Mountain Vista Elementary. Thank you, Principal McDaniels, Superintendent Schieferle and the staff for your wonderful work!" After visiting the Wellness Center, Dr. Morales said, "Thank you to these wonderful parents for making student wellbeing a priority!"
At the December 3rd School Board Meeting, Fillmore Unified School District Governing Board and Superintendent recognized Fillmore High’s 1st Team All-League athletes for Fall of 2024. Football Tri-County League, Daniel Viveros (Offensive Lineman of the Year), Josiah Cruz, Phillip King, and Ray Curiel. Cross County Citrus Coast League, Omar Heredia, Diana Santa Rosa, and Jessica Orozco.

The Fillmore Unified School District celebrates National Special Education Day. In 1975, President Ford signed our nation’s first federal special education law, the Individuals with Disabilities Act. This law made public education available to all eligible children with disabilities across the nation and ensured that proper services were provided to all.
All schools and district offices are closed Wednesday, November 27 through Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. FUSD wishes all families a happy Thanksgiving! We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, December 2.
