Blanca's career has spanned 20 years, with 15 years dedicated to the classroom as a math teacher and 6 years as an Assistant Principal for the Oxnard Union High School District. Her passion for education and her belief in the potential of every student have been the driving forces behind her work. She firmly believes all students can achieve great things with the right support and opportunities.

Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in various educational committees, including ELAC, LCAP, Curriculum, and Inclusivity. Additionally, she has contributed as a member of accreditation visiting committees for WASC. Blanca is excited to work hand in hand with all students, families, staff, and the broader community to collectively shape the future of Sierra High School, Heritage Valley Independent Studies, and Adult Education. Blanca will begin on Monday, November 13, 2023.

We also thank Mrs. Amber Henrey for her two years of leadership and support for the students, staff, and school community. Amber has transferred to a teaching position in our district and will support art education at the elementary level.

[WORK IN PROGRESS] FHS Athletic Complex Design Update

Our updated renderings show the exterior design for our new FHS Athletic Complex. We still need to determine the colors and the image on the west side of the building that will be facing the stadium. Our architects are working to finish the interior design and plan for the required solar power installation. This plan set is currently being costed to ensure that we are within the School Board’s funding allocation for this facility.

Please join us on Monday November 13th for a FHS Athletic Complex Public Meeting at the Fillmore High School Library at 6pm until 7pm to discuss plans for the new complex. More news at blog.fillmoreusd.org

Please join us in showing appreciation for our school psychologists who support student learning, mental and behavioral health, promote positive and inclusive school climates, serve on school safety and crisis teams, and collaborate with families, teachers, and administrators to improve student outcomes. Thank you Lora, Susan, Tiffany, Manuel, and Jessica!
