Club Rush!

This week was fun at FMS! We had a 6th grade Club Rush yesterday and a 7th/8th grade Club Rush today. Students of all grades had the opportunity to learn about the clubs that exist for them. Clubs included Robotics, Basketball Club, Ultimate Frisbee, Lion Chasers, and Birding Club. Students, if you are interested in starting a club, find an adult that will sponsor you, and see Ms. Van Buren for the proper paperwork!

Check out our last picture! Students enjoyed a soccer match using amazing goalposts; special thanks to our dedicated staff and community members collaborating to support our youth.

Principal Valdovinos held an expectations assembly

Principal Valdovinos held an expectations assembly for all students today! Topics included safety, embracing differences and social media. Students were reminded to stay safe and find a trusted adult when needed. They were also reminded that "no one is a better you than you." Finally, students were reminded that life happens when one looks away from the screen!

Project Lead The Way at FMS

Through explorations of human body systems, and more, Project Lead The Way at FMS fuels students’ passion for discovery. As they engage in hands-on, collaborative problem solving focused on real-world challenges, students use and stretch their imaginations in brand-new ways and connect their learning to life. These 6th grade students in Ms. Flowers' class are currently working on a foot orthosis for a client with Cerebral Palsy. How amazing is that?
