Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated May 2nd through the 6th this year with today, May 3rd, being Teacher Appreciation Day. National Teacher Appreciation Day, also known as National Teacher Day, recognizes dedicated educators across the country. As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, the celebration takes place on the Tuesday of the first full week in May each year. Each May, California salutes the important contributions of classified school employees during Classified School Employee Week (CSEW). Classified Employee week is celebrated May 15th through the 21st this year. Fillmore Unified School District will be combining Teacher Appreciation Week and Classified Employees Week together May 9th through the 13th.

April 26 – May 2, 2022
On April 26, district distributes/posts on website draft trustee area maps created by demographer and on April 27th, has enlarged maps on display at FUSD office to solicit input for May 3rd public hearing.

May 10, 2022 – Regular Meeting

Community forum with enlarged maps and comment cards to solicit input for May 17, 2022, public hearing.

May 17, 2022 – Regular Meeting

Public Hearing #4 to solicit public input on draft maps of trustee areas and proposed sequence of election, and summarize input from community forum.

Potential Board action to narrow number of published draft maps for final consideration, and/or to direct the creation of one or more revised draft maps.

June, 2022

Adopt Resolution Adopting Trustee Area Map and Changing Election Method and Sequencing of elections.

County Committee on School District Organization conducts public hearing within District boundaries.

County Committee on School District Organization approves trustee areas and election method change.

June, 2022

Shapefiles of new areas transmitted to ROV (Registrar of Voters).

November 2022

First trustee area elections held.

Important Message from Superintendent Schieferle

Early this morning Piru residents received notification of a missing person who was deemed armed and dangerous in the city of Piru. FUSD is in contact with the Ventura County Sheriffs Department And has received confirmation that the suspect is in custody and there is no threat to any of our schools schools.

Additionally, we have received notice from our service provider that all school phone land lines are down. If families need immediate assistance, please reach school personnel by email. We will provide an update as soon as possible.

Fillmore Adult School English as a Second Language classes are engaging and collaborative!

Las clases de inglés como segundo idioma de la escuela para adultos de Fillmore son atractivas y colaborativas. Los estudiantes desarrollan grandes amistades entre sí y con sus maestros. Estamos muy contentos de tener nuestras clases en persona, sin embargo, reconocemos que no todos los estudiantes pueden venir en persona todos los días. Para esos estudiantes, existe la opción de unirse a la clase de forma remota. ¡Llame a nuestra oficina para más información!

The Fillmore Adult School English as a Second Language classes are engaging and collaborative. The students develop great friendships with each other and their teachers. We are so happy to have our classes in person, however we recognize that not all students can come in person every day. For those students there is an option to join the class remotely. Call our office for more information!
